I am running Retroarch V 64 bit in Windows 10 64 bit. I have tried to download boxart following this video. I have tried to download the images for N64( Games) SNES( Games). I can see Retroarch retrieving boxart progress in lower left corner. Retroarch Boxarts I have tried to add my png files to retroarch in the correct folder - Thumbnails/Sony PlayStation/Named Boxarts However out of 10 games tried only 2 are showing the boxart. Now if you want the fancy boxart etc for your systems, yeah Retroarch is kind of meh. I mean it works but it is so slow to download them. I personally just dont have a need for the art -- to each their own. For most systems the controls are *fine* but you can press F1 in game and tweak controls and save profiles etc if needed.

Is this documented anywhere? Just curious about how other cores would be configured for boxart. Does the code look at the boxart directory in the configuration? Skraper is a piece of software that could help you get boxarts and other media for your games. But, if you're like me and you want to download the images manually, then MobyGames and GameFAQs are good options. Also, if you are on a Windows PC, you could optionally use the LaunchBox frontend for your games.
